A large crowd at the Shoppes at Buckeye in Cleveland’s East Side was shattered by a deadly shooting, leaving one man dead and five others wounded—an incident pieced together from multiple local media reports.
A chaotic scene unfolded around 4:15 a.m. Saturday at the Shoppes at Buckeye, a shopping plaza located at the intersection of East 115th Street and Buckeye Road in Cleveland, Ohio. This commercial hub sits in the city’s Woodland Hills neighborhood, a busy area lined with stores and community spaces. The plaza is well-known locally as a gathering spot, especially on weekends and holidays.
According to police and local media, a large group had gathered in and around the plaza when shots rang out, sending crowds fleeing and cars speeding away as officers arrived. Responding to both 911 calls and automated ShotSpotter alerts, police found a man—estimated to be about 22 years old—fatally wounded at the scene. Five additional victims, ages 18 to 21, both male and female, later arrived at local hospitals by private vehicles with gunshot wounds.
Detectives recovered shell casings from multiple firearms and found two guns hidden in bushes nearby. A vehicle reportedly believed to be involved, containing several more firearms, was towed from a hospital parking lot. The crime scene stretched over several blocks, underscoring the scale and chaos of the incident.
Police have not yet announced any arrests. The investigation remains active, and anyone with information is urged to contact Cleveland police or Crime Stoppers.
