A brazen daylight car theft in Baltimore’s Hampden neighborhood ended with five teens in cuffs—three already sporting court-ordered GPS ankle bracelets!
A 41-year-old woman was attacked just after 11 a.m. on West 36th Street when a youth yanked her keys and sped off in her red sedan. Surveillance video shows the victim chasing the thief moments before he roars away.
Police broadcast an alert, and the Regional Auto Theft Taskforce tracked the stolen car to Kenilworth Drive in Towson around 2:20 p.m. Officers swarmed the vehicle and arrested the entire crew: two 14-year-old boys, a 15-year-old boy, a 13-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy.
Shockingly, investigators discovered that three of the five suspects were already on juvenile ankle monitors for prior crimes—yet still roamed the streets to re-offend.
