The incident began near the Woodlawn Bridge in Vermilion Parish in November 2024, when officers reportedly attempted to stop the suspect, who refused to pull over.

The chase escalated as the tractor driver allegedly tried to ram an officer off the road. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Louisiana State Police, were called in to stop the suspect. The pursuit finally ended in Broussard, Louisiana, when spike strips immobilized the stolen tractor at an intersection.
