Here’s the Story
In a crime that has left Chicago reeling, a 63-year-old businessman was discovered bound with duct tape and electrical cords, savagely beaten to death in the basement of his Norwood Park home.
Prosecutors reportedly allege the suspects lured the victim through a dating app before carrying out the calculated attack. The man was reportedly found gagged with a sock secured by tape, his body showing signs of head trauma, fractured ribs, and other fatal injuries. After the brutal assault, the suspects allegedly stole his phone and wallet, using his credit cards to make over $4,000 in purchases before fleeing the scene.
Surveillance footage and GPS data from one suspect’s ankle monitor tied them to the crime. Both men remain in custody without bail as investigators piece together how an online meeting turned into such a chilling act of violence.
