A routine food delivery in Cypress, Texas, turned into a crime scene as a DoorDash driver’s passenger allegedly stole a $700 scooter from a customer’s front porch, as captured by the customer’s doorbell camera.

In a shocking turn of events, moments after the DoorDash driver dropped off the food order, surveillance footage shows a barefoot man walking up to the customer’s porch and making off with the scooter. The thief then raced back to the same car the DoorDash driver had used for the delivery.

Customer’s Outrage

The victim, who has vowed never to use DoorDash again, expressed her disbelief at the incident: “It’s pretty bold to do something like that in the middle of the day somewhere where every house has cameras.” She also raised concerns about DoorDash’s screening process, as the company initially claimed they may not even know who was making the deliveries.

False Identity

Adding to the mystery, the customer discovered that the delivery was registered under a female name, despite a male driver making the drop-off. This raised further questions about DoorDash’s hiring practices and the potential risks to customers.
