Southern Californians on Edge After Hidden Cameras are Found Near Homes
Southern California residents are on high alert after hidden cameras were discovered in the yards of homes in several neighborhoods, including Garden Grove, Calabasas, Chino Hills, Lost Hills, and Glendale. The cameras, which can be remotely accessed, are believed to be used by burglary rings to monitor homes and later break in.
In Garden Grove, a woman found a hidden camera concealed in the leaves of a bush in her front yard[1]. Similar discoveries have been reported in other communities, prompting authorities to issue warnings. Police arrested four Colombian nationals in Glendale who were part of an apparent burglary tourism ring.
Law enforcement officials suspect the same is happening in Saratoga Hills, Calabasas, where a homeowner found a camera and battery pack in their yard.
Detectives believe these burglary rings, typically consisting of Chilean or Colombian nationals visiting on tourist visas, use WiFi jammers to disable surveillance cameras and alarms during break-ins.
