In a horrifying incident that shook Las Vegas, a man faces attempted murder charges after stabbing a woman 19 times, claiming she was the devil and he was “supposed to kill her.”
The 29 year old Las Vegas man reportedly attacked a woman in her 60s in her apartment on North Las Vegas Boulevard. The incident was reported to the Las Vegas Metro police on February 17th, and they arrived to find the woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.
According to reports, the victim’s son-in-law received a text message from the victim saying that someone had come into her apartment and was hurting her.
When he and a maintenance man arrived at the apartment, they found Mason on top of the woman, holding a black paring knife. The maintenance man said that Mason was acting “distinctly different than normal” and believed he was under the influence of a substance.
The man was asked to put down the knife, which he did, but he then tried to flee, saying they would have to shoot him in the head. He suddenly jumped off the second-story balcony, hitting his head on the curb below.
The victim was taken to UMC Trauma, where she was treated for her injuries, while the alleged attacker was transported to UMC with two stab wounds in his stomach and an injury on the back of his head.
When asked if she knew her assailant the victim said she did not. The suspect allegedly told her that she was his grandmother and he was supposed to kill her because she was the devil. [FULLSTORY]
