[CAUGHT ON CAMERA] Fresno Police Release Footage Of Shooting By Officers At Local Park | BODYCAM

[KFSN] Fresno police have released bodycam footage of a deadly encounter between officers and a man at Vinland Park. The shooting happened in June at the park near Gettysburg and Woodrow Avenues. Investigators believe that 30-year-old Gonzalo Aceituno Jr. set up the incident as a suicide-by-cop situation. Dispatchers received a call of someone was waving a gun over their head at the park. Investigators now believe it was Aceituno Jr. who made that call.

[FOX26] It was unknown to the officers at the time that the 9-1-1 caller was making a false report with the intent to force a confrontation with the officers in a suicide-by-cop attempt. Two patrol officers and one K-9 officer responded to the call. The contact with the subject, later identified as 30-year-old Gonzalo Aceituno Jr., resulted in an officer-involved shooting. Mr. Aceituno was pronounced deceased at the scene. A critical incident video containing a description of the event, 9-1-1 audio, and body-worn camera videos is being shared with the public.

[ABC30] Initially four officers responded and made contact with Aceituno Jr. as he was walking away from the bathroom area of the park. Fresno's police Chief Paco Balderrama said officers gave several commands to him to stop walking away and to put the gun down. Balderrama said Aceituno Jr. refused, then began walking toward officers 'in an aggressive manner'. Two officers opened fire.
