REPORT: Nearly four months after a violent brawl between rival biker gangs erupted into gunfire outside a gas station during Bike Week, authorities have arrested 28 people in a sweeping multi-agency operation dubbed “Operation Mongolian Beef.”
A massive multi-agency sweep dubbed “Operation Mongolian Beef” nets nearly 30 alleged gang members across Florida in connection with a fiery Bike Week brawl and shooting at a Volusia County gas station.
According to media reports, in an unprecedented coordinated effort, the FBI, Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, State Attorney’s Office and multiple local police departments descended on residences, clubhouses and businesses from Daytona Beach to Miami, hauling away 28 suspected motorcycle gang affiliates in pre-dawn raids.
The arrests follow a March shootout at a New Smyrna Beach gas station during Bike Week that injured innocent bystanders and sparked statewide outrage.
Investigators executed more than a dozen search warrants in Volusia, Brevard, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Polk counties, recovering an arsenal of handguns, long guns, body armor and specialized tools used to facilitate high-end vehicle thefts and violent altercations. Officials charged those taken into custody with aggravated rioting—a second-degree felony that carries up to 15 years in prison—for participating in the chaotic confrontation involving rival outlaw clubs.
Authorities reportedly emphasize the operation remains active, with warrants still outstanding for additional suspects and further criminal charges possible as evidence is processed.
