‘There’s a kangaroo in my apartment’: Kangaroo runs rampant in Tampa before deputies’ capture

Residents of a Tampa apartment complex were shocked to see a kangaroo hopping around their neighborhood. The furry fugitive had escaped from its owner and was roaming free in the streets.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office received a frantic 911 call about the kangaroo and dispatched officers to the scene. They managed to capture the marsupial and return it to its owner, who had the proper registration for the exotic pet.

Thankfully, no one was hurt in the kangaroo chase, including the animal itself. But the incident raised questions about the safety and legality of keeping wild animals as pets in Florida.
