Here’s the Story
An apparent domestic altercation inside a restaurant at Nashville’s Opry Mills Mall spiraled into widespread panic, forcing a temporary lockdown and evacuation after false reports of gunfire spread fear of an active shooter.
Shoppers reportedly fled in droves as police rushed to the scene, only to confirm that no shots were fired and the commotion allegedly stemmed from a woman assaulting her boyfriend, an employee at the restaurant. While no serious injuries were reported, several people suffered minor injuries during the frantic evacuation.
The woman has reportedly since been arrested and charged as investigators review surveillance footage to piece together the events that turned a personal dispute into a mall-wide scare.
