A police dog named Buddey at Boston Logan International Airport detected the presence of four mummified monkeys in a passenger’s luggage.

The passenger, returning from the Democratic Republic of Congo via Paris, claimed the bag contained only dried fish.

However, upon physical inspection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers, the nearly 9-pound bushmeat was discovered and marked for destruction at the request of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) due to the potential disease risk, including Ebola.

No charges were filed against the passenger, who stated the monkeys were for personal consumption.
