The car industry was warned over a decade ago about the vulnerability of keyless technology, which has now resulted in a significant increase in vehicle thefts.

Keyless entry vehicles are at risk of being targeted by criminals using devices like relay equipment, which can capture signals from key fobs to unlock and start cars quickly.

To protect against keyless car theft, car owners can take precautions such as using signal-blocking pouches, turning off keyless fobs’ wireless signals, using steering wheel locks or car alarms, and reprogramming car keys to prevent thieves from using stolen keys.
