China’s military has unveiled rifle-equipped robot dogs during recent military drills.

The video footage shows the quadrupedal robots, which can operate for 2-4 hours, conducting reconnaissance, identifying targets, and firing the mounted rifles.

A soldier stated these robodogs can “replace our members to conduct reconnaissance and identify the enemy and strike the target.”

The videos also showcased armed aerial drones, highlighting China’s development of “intelligent unmanned equipment” for urban combat operations. While some robotics companies have pledged not to weaponize such robots, others are pursuing similar capabilities, signaling an emerging era of automated warfare with AI-powered military robots.
