Suspect Arrested After 4 Girls Stabbed at AMC Movie Theater Near Boston
A suspect from Martha’s Vineyard has been arrested after stabbing four girls aged 9-17 at an AMC movie theater in Braintree, Massachusetts on Saturday is 26-year-old Jared Ravizza from Martha’s Vineyard.
The suspect allegedly entered the theater without paying, approached the girls from behind without warning or provocation, and stabbed them while they were watching a movie, laughing during the attack. The girls suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
After fleeing the theater, the man is accused of stabbing two employees at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Plymouth around an hour later.
He reportedly led police on a chase that ended with a crash in Sandwich, where he was arrested.
The alleged attacker reportedly appeared in court on Tuesday, where prosecutors revealed he was wanted for a homicide investigation in Connecticut earlier that day.
His defense reportedly requested a mental competency evaluation, and he was ordered held at a state hospital for evaluation, as a psychologist stated he was experiencing “serious delusions.”
The mother of the three girls stabbed at the theater described the attack as a “nightmare” and called the defendant a “sick individual”.
