While TikTok may be a good way to get a deal from your favorite influencer, you could also get phony products from less-than-scrupulous sellers.
The Better Business Bureau offers these tips:
Research the seller. Make sure the seller has plenty of engagement. If the seller has a website, go there and look for the red flags of a scam site. Do a search of the company name and the words “complaint” or “scam.”
Pay close attention to reviews. They will not only tell you about the quality of the product but also how well the business handles customer service.
Keep an eye on product descriptions. Some sellers may offer what appears to be a great deal on a name-brand product, but don’t forget to read the fine print. [FULLSTORY]
