Archaeologists in Panama have unearthed an ancient tomb at El Caño Archaeological Park, estimated to be around 1,200 years old, containing a wealth of gold treasures and sacrificial victims.
The tomb belonged to a high-status chief from the Coclé culture, accompanied by up to 31 other individuals who were sacrificed as companions.
Among the discoveries were gold artifacts like bracelets, belts, earrings, circular plates, and more.
The tomb’s excavation is ongoing, revealing valuable insights into the region’s history and culture.
