Millions of Samsung owners to receive free Android upgrade – check if you’re phone is on the list!

Millions of Samsung Galaxy smartphone owners will be eligible for a free upgrade to Android 15, also known as One UI 7.

The new operating system is set to replace Android 14 and is expected to bring various new features, although full details will be unveiled at Google’s I/O conference.

Samsung now commits to updating its devices for seven years after their launch dates, but this does not always extend to OS updates.

However, the following Samsung Galaxy models are expected to be eligible for the One UI 7 upgrade:

• Galaxy S24 Ultra, S24+, S24, S23 Ultra, S23+, S23, S23 FE, S22 Ultra, S22+, S22, S21 FE, S21 Ultra, S21+, S21, Z series, Z Fold 6, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 6, Z Flip 5, Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3, A series, A73, A72, A54, A53, A34, A33, A25, A24, A23, and A15 (LTE+5G)

To check for and install updates on your Samsung Galaxy smartphone, you can follow these steps:

1. Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
2. Alternatively, you can go to Settings > About device > Software update > Update now or Settings > About device > Software update > Download updates manually23.

Samsung also has a pre-installed app called “Samsung Software Update” or “SOAgent” that checks for software or security updates and notifies you if there are any available. This app is designed to ensure that your Samsung smartphone is up-to-date
