Netflix adding a big new tax to your bill but ONLY if you live in this state!

Netflix will be adding a communications services tax of 5.07% to the monthly bill of its subscribers in one unlucky state starting from February 15, 2024.

This tax is specific to Florida and will not affect users in other states. The tax is a result of state regulations, and Netflix is required to itemize and separately state taxes on the customer’s bill under state law.

The company has been notifying its subscribers in Florida about this upcoming change. The tax is in addition to the regular price increases that Netflix has implemented in the past for its plans, which are usually attributed to the addition of new content, features, and response to market changes.

If you are a Netflix subscriber in Florida, you will see this new tax reflected in your invoice after February 15, 2024.
