The women alleged that they were given spiked drinks by resort employees, after which they felt incredibly intoxicated and later lost consciousness. They claimed to have been sexually assaulted while unconscious.
The Royal Bahamas Police Force has arrested two men in connection with the incident, and the investigation is ongoing. The resort, Pirate’s Cove, has disputed the women’s account, stating that surveillance footage conflicts with their allegations.
The U.S. embassy in the Bahamas had previously issued a security warning and travel advisory due to an increase in violent crimes, including sexual assaults.
