Ozempic Side-Effects Lawsuits: What to Know

Pharmaceutical companies Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly are facing multiple lawsuits over the side effects of Ozempic, a medication primarily used to manage diabetes.

The lawsuits allege that the ci7ompanies failed to adequately warn patients about potentially severe side effects. One such lawsuit was filed by a patient who claimed that the severity of the side effects was downplayed.

Ozempic, an injectable drug made of semaglutide, can lower blood sugar, stimulate insulin production, slow digestion, and induce a feeling of fullness, which often leads to weight loss.

Novo Nordisk has stated that Ozempic is not approved for chronic weight management. Despite this, some patients have reported severe side effects, including nausea, constipation, diarrhea, and incessant vomiting.

There is also a lawsuit alleging that the drug causes stomach paralysis. It’s important to note that most people taking Ozempic reportedly y do not experience negative side effects, with over 80% of users reporting mild or no side effects.

However, the lawsuits reportedly focus on the claim that the companies did not provide sufficient warning about the potential for severe side effects.
