[WESH|VIDEO] Gruesome new details reveal how police say a 17-year-old suspect brutally attacked his mother.
In a report from the Cocoa Police Department, detectives say the teen, now charged with attempted murder, stabbed his mother several times and hit her in the face with a frying pan.
The report stated when police arrived, “the victim took a breath and stated (her son) did this.” As he’s underage, WESH is not identifying the suspect.
According to the police report, the suspect’s friend tried to get him to stop the attack. He then drove off in a Kia belonging to his mother and then picked up his girlfriend.
The friend who witnessed the attack and another teen followed them in a Jeep also belonging to the victim. Police were able to track the defendant by pinging his cell phone.
Once located, investigators say he refused to stop and led law enforcement on a high-speed chase into multiple counties. Eventually, they crashed while exiting Interstate 95 where the suspect was apprehended. [FULLSTORY|VIDEO]
