[VIDEO] KCRA reports that in 1971, Melissa Highsmith was kidnapped by a babysitter when she was 22 months old.
This year, just in time for the holiday season, she reunited with her parents in Texas after 51 years apart.

“It’s good to see what I looked like when I was a baby,” Highsmith told KTVT as she looked through photos of herself that she’d never seen before.

“It is overwhelming, but at the same time, it’s the most wonderful feeling in the world.” Highsmith’s father, Jeffrie, said he started crying when he heard the news that his daughter was alive.

Her mother, Alta Apantencl, said she couldn’t believe it at first. “I thought I would never see her again,” Apantencl said.
