[WESH|VIDEO] Newly released body camera video shows the moment officers and a home invasion suspect got into a shootout in Altamonte Spring last Friday morning.
Shots rang out in an Altamonte Springs neighborhood just as people were leaving for work.
Officers going after a home invasion suspect say he fired at them.
Police say that just before 6 a.m., they were called to the townhome on Northbridge Drive for a report of an armed home invasion.
Altamonte Springs Police Officer Paul Machovina said that after two hours of negotiation, the suspect came out armed.
“He had a firearm, again refused officers’ commands, and after a few minutes, took off running, gave a short foot chase. In the middle of that, there was an exchange of gunfire, and the subject was taken into custody,” Machovina said.
The incident ended several yards away from the original call. A grey SUV was hit by at least one bullet. [FULLSTORY]
